Growing up

My oldest son is getting so big. Last week he started school for the first time. It was hard to let him go but I can already see him maturing and learning. The first day I cried, now I look forward to dropping him off and I am ready to pick him up at the end of the day. He goes everyday, all day. It is so hard to watch your children grow up and at the same time realize as they age, so do you. Starting school brings forth a whole new set of problems to deal with. Are they making friends? Eating all of their lunch? Do they miss us during the day? Do they feel abandoned. Sometimes I want to drive to the playground and peek through the fence to see what he is up to/if he is having a good time. This being a parent is hard stuff.

I iz a married woman now............

Believe it or not Mike and I finally tied the night. After returning home from a two week vacation in June I decided that it was time to take the big step. I got little to no hesitation from Mike and we decided to shoot for the end of the summer. We had always talked about getting hitched before Aden started school so we got married August 29th and had a small reception on the 30th. We went to the courthouse for the ceremony and I giggled through the whole thing. I honestly do not remember much of it, I was so nervous. I was trying not to cry so I think that is why I was laughing. Not to mention Mike was making faces at me as I said my vows. On my wedding night my friends surprised us with a motel room all decked out. It was the best, most thoughtful present I could have gotten. We had a wonderful time and I will never forget it. The next morning the above mentioned friends picked me up for more surprises. I got my make up professionally done and then we had a breakfast of bagels and mimosa. It was friggen awesome!!! We had the reception in our backyard and it turned out pretty nice. I am so relieved it is over and now I have health insurance again LOL. Besides that, nothing much has really changed as the result of being a married woman.
